Notary Service

City of Maple Valley, 22017 SE Wax Road, Suite 200, Maple Valley, WA 98038, usually provides notary services. The timing is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. There is no need for an appointment, but calling ahead is advised. This service is free of charge.

Here are a few simple and direct guidelines for notary services:

  • Notaries cannot draught documents on your behalf or provide legal advice.
  • Documents lacking a valid legal seal cannot be signed by notaries Jurat or the notary’s acknowledgment.
  • A Notary cannot complete the transaction without the presence of the signers in person.
  • Signers must possess valid photo identification that has not expired in the past three years.
  • The signer must bring witnesses if witnesses are necessary. To serve as a witness, the witness must be someone the person knows personally whose document is being notarized, along with a legitimate photo ID. The City does not provide witnesses.
  • Wait until the notary instructs you to sign the document.

All Notary services might not be offered here. Wills and real estate transactions are examples of extensive notary requests that cannot be met.
